Ubercab Confessions with StartEdUp’s Don Wettrick
He’s shining a light on people we don’t know but should know
I’ve long been a fan of Don Wettrick and his podcast StartEdUp. At this year’s FETC conference, I was lucky enough to room with Don and pick his brain for several days. The fun started out when we met at the airport and shared a ride to the hotel. Don didn’t know it, but it was interview time!
People started calling my class and they were pretty awesome!
We had a great conversation about the history of his podcast and how his students really drove and continue to drive the whole thing. They get some big time guests and Don shares their secret sauce to landing such premium classroom visitors: they ask.
He also shared a lot of wisdom about the future and what’s really important (spoiler: it’s about skills, not knowledge). As Don put it, “It’s scary. The amount of jobs that are going to go away.” Simply put, Don wants his students and yours to be prepared for that.
